Kewa Datshi
Bhutanese potatoes with cheese
Kewa datshi is, alongside ema datshi, one of Bhutan's national dishes: sliced potatoes braised in a creamy cheese sauce.
The traditional cottage cheese makes the sauce silky, while chilli provides the heat indispensable in the Himalayas.

Ingredients
- Potatoes500 g
- Fresh / cottage cheese150 g
- Green chilli2-3
- Onion & garlicsome of each
- Butter1 tbsp
- Tomato1

Preparation
Slice the potatoes.
Cook with onion, garlic, tomato and chilli in a little water.
When the potatoes are nearly soft, stir in the cheese.
Enrich with butter and let the sauce turn creamy.
Serve with red rice.
