Pisang Goreng

Fried bananas from Indonesia

Pisang goreng – “fried banana” – is a ubiquitous snack in Indonesia and across Southeast Asia, sold fresh and crisp at street stalls.

Ripe plantains are dipped in a light batter and fried golden; crisp outside, soft and sweet within, often served with palm sugar or chocolate.
