Malaysian shaved ice with beans & syrup

Ais kacang (also ABC) is a colourful Malaysian shaved-ice mountain over red beans, jelly and corn.

Doused in rose syrup and condensed milk, crowned with a touch of palm sugar - a sweet classic against the tropical heat.

Ingredients

  • Shaved iceplenty
  • Red adzuki beans (cooked)100 g
  • Grass jelly & cornsome of each
  • Rose syrup3 tbsp
  • Condensed milk3 tbsp
  • Palm sugar syrup2 tbsp

Preparation

  1. Put beans, grass jelly and corn into a bowl.

  2. Cover with a big mound of shaved ice.

  3. Drizzle with rose syrup and palm sugar syrup.

  4. Pour over condensed milk.

  5. Serve at once before the ice melts.
