Rice flour flatbread from Karnataka

Akki rotti is a savoury rice flour flatbread from Karnataka, eaten for breakfast.

The dough is seasoned with onion, chili and coriander and patted flat by hand directly in the pan.

  • Rice flour250 g
  • Onion1
  • Green chilies & coriandersome of each
  • Cumin1 tsp
  • Warm wateras needed
  • Oilsome

Preparation

  1. Mix rice flour with onion, chili, coriander and cumin.

  2. Knead with warm water into a soft dough.

  3. Pat the dough flat by hand on the oiled pan.

  4. Make a hole in the centre.

  5. Cook covered until crisp on both sides.
