Sweet-glazed grilled pork
Bak kwa is a sweet-savoury grilled jerky of thinly spread minced pork, rooted in the Hokkien tradition.
In Singapore and Malaysia it is a sought-after gift for Chinese New Year, drawing long queues.

Ingredients
- Ground pork500 g
- Sugar100 g
- Fish sauce & soy sauce1 tbsp each
- Five-spice powder1 tsp
- Honey2 tbsp
- Shaoxing wine1 tbsp

Preparation
Marinate the pork with sugar, sauces and spices.
Spread thinly on baking paper.
Pre-dry in the oven.
Cut into pieces and brush with honey.
Caramelise over charcoal or in the oven, serve.
