Grilled rice paper from Da Lat

Bánh tráng nướng is often called Vietnamese pizza and began as a street snack in the mountain town of Da Lat.

A sheet of rice paper is grilled crisp over coals and topped with egg, spring onion, dried shrimp and sauce.

Ingredients

  • Rice paper4 sheets
  • Egg2 pieces
  • Dried shrimp2 tbsp
  • Spring onion2 stalks
  • Chili sauce & mayonnaisesome of each
  • Pork flossas desired

Preparation

  1. Lay rice paper on the grill rack.

  2. Add egg and spread it evenly.

  3. Scatter spring onion, shrimp and floss on top.

  4. Grill crisp until the rice paper firms up.

  5. Drizzle with sauce, fold over and serve.
