Beef Tapa

Marinated beef for breakfast

Beef tapa is marinated, lightly sweet beef that belongs to the classics of Filipino breakfast.

As tapsilog it is served with garlic rice (sinangag) and a fried egg.

Ingredients

  • Thinly sliced beef500 g
  • Soy sauce4 tbsp
  • Garlic6 cloves
  • Brown sugar2 tbsp
  • Calamansi or lemon2 tbsp
  • Pepper & oilsome of each

Preparation

  1. Marinate the beef with soy sauce, garlic, sugar and calamansi.

  2. Let it rest in the fridge overnight.

  3. Sear in a hot pan.

  4. Fry until the marinade caramelises.

  5. Serve with garlic rice and a fried egg.
