Crunchy puffed-rice chaat from Mumbai

Bhel puri is a beloved Mumbai street snack: puffed rice, crisp sev noodles and vegetables tossed with sweet and spicy chutneys.

Sweet, sour, spicy and crunchy at once, it is mixed fresh and eaten at once before it softens.

Ingredients

  • Puffed rice150 g
  • Sev (chickpea noodles)50 g
  • Tamarind chutney3 tbsp
  • Mint-coriander chutney3 tbsp
  • Onion, tomato & potatosome of each
  • Chaat masala & coriandersome of each

Preparation

  1. Dice onion, tomato and boiled potato.

  2. Toss with the puffed rice.

  3. Add both chutneys and chaat masala.

  4. Mix in sev and coriander.

  5. Serve at once while crunchy.
