Spicy rice-lentil stew from Karnataka
Bisi bele bath means "hot lentil rice" in Kannada - a spicy one-pot dish from Karnataka in South India.
Rice, toor dal and vegetables simmer with a dedicated spice blend and tamarind into a creamy, aromatic whole.

- Rice200 g
- Toor dal (lentils)150 g
- Mixed vegetables300 g
- Bisi bele bath spice blend3 tbsp
- Tamarind paste1 tbsp
- Ghee & curry leavessome of each

Preparation
Cook rice and dal separately until soft.
Cook the vegetables.
Stir with spice blend, tamarind and water.
Reduce everything into a creamy stew.
Temper with ghee and curry leaves, serve.
