Korean dried pollock soup

Bukeoguk is a mild Korean soup of dried pollock (bukeo), regarded as a soothing hangover breakfast.

The shredded dried fish is toasted in sesame oil and simmered with egg and radish into a light, clear broth.

Ingredients

  • Dried pollock (bukeo)60 g
  • Eggs2 pieces
  • Radish150 g
  • Sesame oil1 tbsp
  • Garlic & spring onionsome of each
  • Soy sauce & saltsome of each

Preparation

  1. Soak the dried fish and shred it.

  2. Toast with radish in sesame oil.

  3. Top up with water and simmer.

  4. Stir in beaten egg.

  5. Season with garlic, spring onion and soy sauce.
