Glazed yellowtail

Buri teriyaki is a Japanese classic of yellowtail pan-fried in a glossy teriyaki sauce.

Buri is considered especially fatty and flavourful in winter and is a lucky symbol at new year.

Ingredients

  • Yellowtail fillets (buri)2
  • Soy sauce3 tbsp
  • Mirin & sake2 tbsp each
  • Sugar1 tbsp
  • Flour for dustingsome
  • Oil1 tbsp

Preparation

  1. Lightly dust the fish fillets with flour.

  2. Pan-fry golden on both sides in oil.

  3. Add a sauce of soy, mirin, sake and sugar.

  4. Glaze the fish in it.

  5. Serve drizzled with the thickened sauce.
