Crispy sweet-spicy chicken

Dakgangjeong is double-fried Korean chicken glazed in a sticky, sweet-spicy sauce.

Unlike the saucier yangnyeom chicken, it stays crisp longer and is often served with peanuts.

Ingredients

  • Chicken pieces (bite-size)600 g
  • Cornstarch100 g
  • Gochujang & honey2 tbsp each
  • Soy sauce & rice syrupsome of each
  • Garlic & gingersome of each
  • Peanuts & sesamesome of each

Preparation

  1. Coat the chicken in starch and double-fry crisp.

  2. Cook gochujang, honey, soy sauce and garlic into a sauce.

  3. Reduce the sauce briefly until sticky.

  4. Toss the fried chicken in the sauce.

  5. Serve scattered with peanuts and sesame.
