Korean chicken skewers from the street stall

Dakkochi are glazed chicken skewers sold freshly grilled at Korean street stalls.

A sweet and spicy sauce of gochujang and soy gives them their signature sticky shine.

Ingredients

  • Boneless chicken thighs500 g
  • Gochujang (chili paste)2 tbsp
  • Soy sauce & honey1 tbsp each
  • Spring onions2
  • Garlic & gingersome of each
  • Wooden skewers4

Preparation

  1. Thread chicken and spring onion alternately onto skewers.

  2. Stir a sauce of gochujang, soy and honey.

  3. Cook the skewers on a grill or in a pan.

  4. Brush repeatedly with the sauce.

  5. Serve stickily glazed and hot.
