Eomuk bokkeum is a popular Korean side dish of stir-fried fish cake strips.

Glazed in a sweet and salty sauce of soy sauce and syrup, it is a fixture of the lunchbox.

Ingredients

  • Korean fish cakes (eomuk)300 g
  • Soy sauce2 tbsp
  • Rice syrup or honey1 tbsp
  • Garlic2 cloves
  • Onion & peppersome of each
  • Sesame oil & sesamesome of each

Preparation

  1. Cut the fish cakes into strips.

  2. Fry onion and pepper in oil.

  3. Add the fish cakes and fry.

  4. Glaze with soy sauce, syrup and garlic.

  5. Finish with sesame oil and sesame.
