Eomuk guk is a clear, savoury soup of fish cakes - a popular street snack, especially on cold winter days.

The fish cakes are often threaded onto skewers and served in a light broth with radish and anchovies.

Ingredients

  • Fish cakes (eomuk)300 g
  • Radish200 g
  • Dried anchovies1 handful
  • Kombu1 piece
  • Soy sauce1 tbsp
  • Spring onion2 stalks

Preparation

  1. Simmer anchovies and kombu in water into a broth, strain.

  2. Cook the radish soft in the broth.

  3. Thread the fish cakes onto skewers, add.

  4. Season with soy sauce.

  5. Serve with spring onion.
