Ginataang mais is a warm Filipino dessert of corn and sticky rice in coconut milk.

The sweet, creamy porridge is gladly eaten on rainy days and as a snack.

Ingredients

  • Corn kernels300 g
  • Sticky rice100 g
  • Coconut milk500 ml
  • Sugar80 g
  • Pinch of salt1 pinch
  • Pandan leaf1

Preparation

  1. Pre-cook the sticky rice with water and pandan.

  2. Add the corn and cook.

  3. Stir in the coconut milk.

  4. Sweeten with sugar and salt.

  5. Simmer to a creamy consistency and serve warm.
