Sautéed chayote with pork

Ginisang sayote is a simple everyday Filipino dish of sautéed chayote.

With a little pork, tomato and fish sauce, the mild squash turns savoury and filling.

Ingredients

  • Chayote2
  • Pork150 g
  • Tomato & onionsome of each
  • Garlic2 cloves
  • Fish sauce1 tbsp
  • Oil & peppersome of each

Preparation

  1. Peel the chayote and cut into strips.

  2. Fry garlic, onion and tomato.

  3. Add the pork and fry.

  4. Add the chayote and season with fish sauce.

  5. Cook until the chayote is soft and serve.
