Korean egg bread from the street stall

Gyeran ppang is a warm Korean street bread with a whole egg baked into the soft batter.

Popular in winter, it pairs a lightly sweet cake batter with a savoury baked egg.

Ingredients

  • Flour150 g
  • Eggs8
  • Milk120 ml
  • Sugar40 g
  • Baking powder1 tsp
  • Butter & saltsome of each

Preparation

  1. Stir a batter from flour, milk, two eggs and sugar.

  2. Grease the moulds and fill with batter.

  3. Crack a whole egg into the centre of each.

  4. Season with salt.

  5. Bake in the oven until the egg has set.
