Chilled silken tofu with toppings

Hiyayakko is a simple Japanese summer dish of chilled silken tofu with fresh toppings.

With bonito flakes, ginger, spring onion and soy sauce, the delicate tofu texture comes into its own.

Ingredients

  • Silken tofu300 g
  • Bonito flakes1 handful
  • Spring onion2
  • Ginger1 piece
  • Soy sauceto taste
  • Sesamesome

Preparation

  1. Chill the silken tofu well.

  2. Arrange carefully on plates.

  3. Grate the ginger and slice the spring onion.

  4. Top the tofu with bonito flakes and garnishes.

  5. Drizzle with soy sauce and serve.
