Beef braised in soy sauce

Jangjorim is a savoury Korean side dish of lean beef braised in soy sauce.

The meat is shredded into fibres and kept together with boiled eggs in the salty sauce.

Ingredients

  • Lean beef (brisket)400 g
  • Soy sauce100 ml
  • Quail eggs or eggs6
  • Garlic4 cloves
  • Green chilies2
  • Sugar1 tbsp

Preparation

  1. Pre-cook the beef in water and keep the broth.

  2. Braise with soy sauce, garlic and sugar.

  3. Add the boiled eggs.

  4. Shred the meat into fibres.

  5. Store chilled and serve as a side with rice.
