Stuffed chive and egg pockets

Jiucai hezi are northern Chinese pan-fried pockets filled with Chinese chives and scrambled egg.

The crisp fried wrapper and juicy filling make them a popular snack and side dish.

Ingredients

  • Wheat flour300 g
  • Chinese chives300 g
  • Eggs3 pieces
  • Glass noodles50 g
  • Sesame oil & soy saucesome of each
  • Ginger & saltsome of each

Preparation

  1. Knead flour with hot water into a dough and rest.

  2. Scramble the eggs and soak the glass noodles.

  3. Mix chives, egg and glass noodles into a filling.

  4. Roll dough into discs, fill and form half-moons.

  5. Pan-fry crisp on both sides.
