Crisp tempura fritter of vegetable strips

Kakiage is a tempura variety in which finely cut vegetables are fried into a loose fritter.

Onion, carrot and beans are bound with a light batter and served over rice or soba.

  • Onion1
  • Carrot1
  • Green beans100 g
  • Tempura flour100 g
  • Ice water150 ml
  • Oil for fryingenough

Preparation

  1. Cut the vegetables into fine strips.

  2. Dust with tempura flour.

  3. Stir ice water into a loose batter.

  4. Drop the vegetables by the spoonful into hot oil.

  5. Fry golden and crisp.
