Jakarta rice cake with tofu and peanut sauce

Ketoprak is a Jakarta street dish combining rice cake, tofu, glass noodles and bean sprouts with a sweet peanut sauce.

The sauce is often pounded fresh in a mortar with garlic and sweet soy sauce and poured over the components.

Ingredients

  • Rice cake (lontong)300 g
  • Tofu200 g
  • Glass noodles100 g
  • Bean sprouts150 g
  • Roasted peanuts120 g
  • Sweet soy sauce & garlicsome of each

Preparation

  1. Fry the tofu, blanch glass noodles and sprouts.

  2. Pound peanuts with garlic and chili.

  3. Stir in sweet soy sauce and water for the sauce.

  4. Cut rice cake, tofu, noodles and sprouts into pieces.

  5. Pour over the peanut sauce, serve with crackers.
