Red barbecue pork over rice

Khao moo daeng is a Thai plate dish of thinly sliced red barbecue pork over rice.

A sweet, slightly sticky red sauce and a hard-boiled egg round off the dish.

Ingredients

  • Pork neck400 g
  • Red fermented tofu1 tbsp
  • Honey & soy sauce2 tbsp each
  • Cooked rice300 g
  • Hard-boiled egg2
  • Cucumber & spring onionsome of each

Preparation

  1. Marinate the pork with tofu, honey and soy sauce.

  2. Roast in the oven to a red glaze.

  3. Slice thinly.

  4. Reduce a sweet red sauce from the marinade.

  5. Arrange pork over rice with egg and sauce.
