Korean dumplings with kimchi

Kimchi mandu are Korean dumplings with a filling of ripe kimchi, tofu and minced pork.

They are steamed or fried and especially popular at the lunar new year.

Ingredients

  • Mandu or gyoza wrappers20
  • Ripe kimchi200 g
  • Minced pork200 g
  • Tofu150 g
  • Bean sprouts & spring onionsome of each
  • Sesame oil & garlicsome of each

Preparation

  1. Finely chop the kimchi and squeeze out.

  2. Mix with pork, mashed tofu and seasonings.

  3. Fill the wrappers and seal tightly.

  4. Steam for about 10 minutes or fry crisp.

  5. Serve with a soy-vinegar dip.
