Bananas in sweetened coconut milk

Kluay buat chi is a simple Thai dessert of bananas cooked in coconut milk.

The name literally means banana nun, as the white bananas recall a nun's robe.

  • Ripe bananas5
  • Coconut milk400 ml
  • Sugar60 g
  • Pinch of salt1 pinch
  • Pandan leaf1

Preparation

  1. Cut the bananas into bite-sized pieces.

  2. Warm coconut milk with pandan, sugar and salt.

  3. Add the bananas.

  4. Simmer gently until the bananas are soft.

  5. Serve warm.
