Fried Chinese dough twist
Mahua are fried, twisted dough strands, a crunchy snack especially known from Tianjin.
The lightly sweetened dough is twisted into braids and fried golden, making it crisp and long-keeping.

- Wheat flour300 g
- Sugar60 g
- Egg1 piece
- Sesame2 tbsp
- Baking powder & saltsome of each
- Oil for fryingplenty

Preparation
Knead flour, sugar, egg and a little water into a firm dough.
Divide the dough into strands and roll out.
Twist two strands each into a braid.
Fry slowly golden over medium heat.
Drain and let cool.
