Mango Lassi

The creamy yoghurt drink that soothes any heat

Lassi is India's traditional yoghurt drink – at home in Punjab for centuries. The sweet mango version is the best known and pleasantly cools spicy curry.

Ripe mango, yoghurt, a pinch of cardamom: that's all it takes for a velvety, fruity classic.

Ingredients

  • Ripe mango1
  • Yoghurt250 g
  • Milk100 ml
  • Sugar or honey1–2 tbsp
  • Cardamom1 pinch

Preparation

  1. Peel the mango, dice the flesh coarsely.

  2. Add to a blender with yoghurt, milk, sugar and cardamom.

  3. Blend smooth and creamy.

  4. Serve over ice, dust with a little cardamom if you like.
