Paneer with peas in tomato sauce

Matar paneer is a North Indian curry of paneer and green peas in a spiced tomato-onion sauce.

A vegetarian classic, it appears in everyday meals as much as at festivals and pairs with naan or rice.

Ingredients

  • Paneer250 g
  • Green peas200 g
  • Tomatoes & onion2 each
  • Ginger-garlic paste1 tbsp
  • Garam masala & turmericsome of each
  • Cream & coriandersome of each

Preparation

  1. Fry the onion with ginger-garlic paste.

  2. Add pureed tomato and spices, reduce.

  3. Cook the peas in the sauce.

  4. Fold in paneer cubes and a little cream.

  5. Finish with garam masala and coriander.
