Stuffed griddle flatbread

Murtabak is a stuffed griddle bread brought by Indian Muslims to Malaysia and Singapore, sold at mamak stalls.

A thinly stretched dough is filled with spiced minced meat, onion and egg, folded into a parcel and fried crisp.

  • Roti dough3 portions
  • Ground beef300 g
  • Onion2 pieces
  • Egg3 pieces
  • Curry powder & spicessome of each
  • Oil for fryingplenty

Preparation

  1. Season the mince with curry powder and fry.

  2. Mix with onion and beaten egg.

  3. Stretch the dough paper-thin.

  4. Add the filling and fold into a parcel.

  5. Fry crisp on both sides on the griddle, cut.
