Spicy Korean radish salad

Musaengchae is a crunchy Korean banchan side of finely shredded white radish.

Dressed with gochugaru, vinegar and a little sugar, the salad is fresh, spicy and lightly sweet.

Ingredients

  • White radish500 g
  • Gochugaru1 tbsp
  • Rice vinegar2 tbsp
  • Sugar & saltsome of each
  • Garlic & spring onionsome of each
  • Sesame1 tsp

Preparation

  1. Finely shred the radish into strips.

  2. Salt briefly, then squeeze out.

  3. Mix gochugaru, vinegar, sugar and garlic.

  4. Toss the radish with the dressing.

  5. Serve scattered with spring onion and sesame.
