Udon hot pot in a clay pot

Nabeyaki udon is a warming Japanese udon hot pot served right in the clay pot.

In the dashi broth float udon, a poached egg, tempura shrimp, mushrooms and vegetables - a wintry comfort dish.

Ingredients

  • Udon noodles300 g
  • Dashi broth800 ml
  • Tempura shrimp2 pieces
  • Eggs2 pieces
  • Shiitake & napa cabbagesome of each
  • Soy sauce & mirinsome of each

Preparation

  1. Season the dashi with soy sauce and mirin.

  2. Cook udon, shiitake and cabbage in the clay pot.

  3. Crack in an egg and poach.

  4. Add tempura shrimp at the end.

  5. Serve right in the hot pot.
