Steamed rice with tender chicken

Nasi tim is an Indonesian-Chinese dish of rice steamed together with seasoned chicken in a bowl.

It is considered a light, easily digestible meal and is often made for children and convalescents.

Ingredients

  • Rice200 g
  • Chicken meat250 g
  • Dried shiitake3
  • Soy sauce & oyster sauce1 tbsp each
  • Garlic & gingersome of each
  • Chicken broth300 ml

Preparation

  1. Marinate chicken with soy sauce, oyster sauce and shiitake.

  2. Put the marinade and chicken into a bowl.

  3. Layer rice on top and pour in broth.

  4. Steam the bowl for about 40 minutes.

  5. Turn out and serve with spring onion.
