Neer Dosa

Delicate rice crepes from Mangalore

Neer dosa means water dosa and is a thin, soft rice crepe from the coastal region of Karnataka.

The unleavened batter needs no fermentation and yields lacy, pale crepes.

Ingredients

  • Rice200 g
  • Fresh grated coconut3 tbsp
  • Wateras needed
  • Salt1 tsp
  • Oil for the pansome

Preparation

  1. Soak the rice and grind fine with coconut.

  2. Stir with plenty of water into a very thin batter.

  3. Add salt.

  4. Pour the batter thinly into a hot pan.

  5. Cook covered and fold over.
