Prawn Pepper Fry

Peppery prawns from Kerala

Prawn pepper fry is a spicy prawn dish from Kerala with plenty of freshly ground black pepper.

Curry leaves and coconut oil give the semi-dry dish its characteristic South Indian flavour.

Ingredients

  • Prawns400 g
  • Black pepper2 tbsp
  • Curry leaves2 sprigs
  • Onion & ginger-garlicsome of each
  • Turmeric & chili powdersome of each
  • Coconut oil2 tbsp

Preparation

  1. Marinate the prawns with turmeric and chili.

  2. Fry onion with ginger-garlic in coconut oil.

  3. Add the prawns and fry.

  4. Stir in plenty of black pepper.

  5. Cook semi-dry with curry leaves.
