Samlor Korko

Cambodian vegetable stew soup

Samlor korko is considered one of Cambodia's oldest and most national soups, packed with a variety of vegetables.

A spice paste (kroeung) of lemongrass and turmeric and roasted rice powder give the soup depth and body.

Ingredients

  • Chicken or pork300 g
  • Mixed vegetables & pumpkin500 g
  • Kroeung (lemongrass paste)3 tbsp
  • Prahok (fish paste)1 tbsp
  • Roasted rice powder2 tbsp
  • Fish sauce & palm sugarsome of each

Preparation

  1. Fry the kroeung in oil until aromatic.

  2. Add the meat and brown.

  3. Pour in water and prahok.

  4. Add the vegetables by cooking time.

  5. Thicken with rice powder, season with fish sauce, serve.
