Shami Kebab

Soft mince and lentil patties

Shami kebab are tender patties of minced meat and chickpeas (chana dal), rooted in the Mughal cuisine of the subcontinent.

Meat and lentils are cooked with spices, finely ground, bound with egg and fried crisp.

Ingredients

  • Ground beef400 g
  • Chana dal100 g
  • Ginger-garlic paste1 tbsp
  • Garam masala & chilisome of each
  • Egg1 piece
  • Onion & coriandersome of each

Preparation

  1. Cook the mince and chana dal soft with spices.

  2. Finely grind the dry mass.

  3. Bind with egg, onion and coriander.

  4. Form into flat patties.

  5. Fry crisp on both sides in a little oil.
