Steamed prawns with garlic and glass noodles

Suanrong xia are butterflied prawns on a bed of glass noodles, generously topped with garlic.

Gently steamed, the noodles soak up the sweet prawn juices and the garlic aroma.

Ingredients

  • Large prawns500 g
  • Glass noodles100 g
  • Garlic1 bulb
  • Soy sauce & rice wine1 tbsp each
  • Spring onion2
  • Oil2 tbsp

Preparation

  1. Soak the glass noodles and place in a dish.

  2. Butterfly the prawns and arrange on top.

  3. Finely chop the garlic and fry in oil.

  4. Spoon garlic and sauce over the prawns.

  5. Steam for about 8 minutes and drizzle with hot oil.
