Korean cinnamon-ginger punch

Sujeonggwa is a cold Korean punch of cinnamon and ginger, traditionally served at New Year and as a dessert drink.

Sweetened with sugar and garnished with dried persimmon and pine nuts, it tastes spiced-sweet and refreshing.

Ingredients

  • Cinnamon sticks3 pieces
  • Ginger50 g
  • Sugar or brown sugar100 g
  • Water1.5 l
  • Dried persimmon2 pieces
  • Pine nuts1 tbsp

Preparation

  1. Boil cinnamon and ginger separately in water.

  2. Combine both brews and strain.

  3. Sweeten with sugar and let cool.

  4. Pour well chilled into bowls.

  5. Garnish with dried persimmon and pine nuts.
