Thai fried fish cakes

Tod mun pla are spicy Thai fish cakes of fish paste, red curry paste and kaffir lime leaves.

Vigorous kneading gives them a bouncy texture, and they are served with a sweet-sour cucumber dip.

Ingredients

  • White fish fillet400 g
  • Red curry paste2 tbsp
  • Kaffir lime leaves5 pieces
  • Long beans100 g
  • Fish sauce & eggsome of each
  • Cucumber & peanuts (dip)some of each

Preparation

  1. Puree the fish with curry paste and egg into a sticky mass.

  2. Mix in finely sliced lime leaves and beans.

  3. Knead vigorously by hand.

  4. Form small cakes and deep-fry golden.

  5. Serve with a sweet-sour cucumber dip.
