Umeshu

Japanese plum liqueur as aperitif and with dessert

Umeshu is made by steeping unripe ume fruit with sugar in spirit. The result is a sweet-tart liqueur with almond and stone-fruit notes.

Neat, on the rocks or with soda, umeshu is a popular aperitif – and its sweetness pairs beautifully with dessert.
