Cà Phê Sữa Đá

Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk

French colonists brought the coffee; Vietnam made it its own. Lacking fresh milk, people sweetened it with condensed milk – and the intensely sweet iced coffee was born.

The strong coffee slowly drips through the phin filter onto the condensed milk, then it all goes over plenty of ice.
