Taiwanese popcorn chicken with basil
Yan su ji is the crisp Taiwanese popcorn chicken, a classic of the night markets.
Marinated chicken pieces are fried in sweet potato starch and served with fried Thai basil.

- Chicken thighs500 g
- Sweet potato starch150 g
- Soy sauce & rice wine1 tbsp each
- Five spice powder1 tsp
- Thai basil1 bunch
- Garlic & white peppersome of each

Preparation
Dice the chicken and marinate with soy sauce and spices.
Toss in sweet potato starch.
Fry crisp in hot oil.
Briefly fry the basil with it.
Sprinkle with five spice powder and white pepper.
