Newari dumplings with syrup and sesame
Yomari are fig-shaped dumplings of the Newar people of Kathmandu, made for the harvest festival Yomari Punhi.
The rice flour shell encloses a filling of cane sugar syrup (chaku) and sesame.

- Rice flour250 g
- Cane sugar syrup (chaku)150 g
- Sesame60 g
- Grated coconut30 g
- Warm wateras needed
- Pinch of salt1 pinch

Preparation
Knead rice flour with warm water into a supple dough.
Mix chaku with toasted sesame and coconut.
Shape the dough into small cups.
Add the filling and close into a fig shape.
Steam for about 15 minutes.
